Upcoming Linux Mint 18 'Sarah' new components, theme & updated package


Few hours before entering in june, In which beta release for Linux Mint 18 is expected. The presence of Linux Mint 18 codename Sarah is awaited by Linux mint users. Linux Mint 18 brings new components with latest versions of the Cinnamon (Cinnamon 3.0) and MATE desktop environments (MATE 1.14) and a lot of new features

Components
some of the changes in Cinnamon 3.0:
- Window management improvements on tiling, mapping and unmapping windows, compositor’s window groups and tracking of full screen windows
- Improved out of the box touchpad support (edge-scrolling and two-finger-scrolling can now be configured independently and are both enabled by default)
- New accessibility and sound settings (both rewritten as native cinnamon-settings modules)
- Battery powered devices can be renamed
- Different favorite applications can now be set for plain-text, documents and source code files
- Panel launchers now include application actions
- Animation effects are now enabled by default on dialogs and menus
- Favorites and system options can now be disabled in the menu applet
- The photo-frame desklet now also scans subdirectories
- Improved support for GTK 3.20, Spotify 0.27, Viber

- Improved GTK+3 support across the entire MATE Desktop.
- Full GTK 3.20 support in all MATE themes.
- Client Side Decorated applications render correctly in all themes.
- Completely ported MATE System Monitor and Mozo to GTK+3 only.
- Touchpad configuration now supports edge and two-finger scrolling independently.
- Python extensions in Caja can now be managed separately.
- All three window focus modes are selectable.
- MATE Panel now has the ability to change icon sizes for menubar and menu items.
- MATE NetSpeed Applet has been merged into the MATE Applets package.
- MATE Terminal support VTE 2.91 API when built for GTK+3.
- Volume and Brightness OSD can now be enabled/disabled.
- Translations are updated.

Package
Linux Mint 18 based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Xenial Xerus and with updated software, new system and hardware stacks, a newer version of X.Org and newer kernels and drivers. it means amd user no need to worries about driver's compatibility cause open-source driver AMDGPU is enabled by default in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. AMD graphics will work fine for performing standard desktop activities. So, please do not avaoid ubuntu just because you use amd mechine lol.

Themes
Linux Mint 18 introducing new flat theme called “Mint-Y” based on the very popular Arc and Moka themes. supporting both the old “Mint-X” and the new “Mint-Y” themes.
